Position Overview: Due to continued client demand for Datolite Rocket, we are seeking a Product Developer to join our growing Product Development team. This role contributes to the design, development, and enhancement of our industry-leading proforma and prebill automation solution.

The successful candidate will operate within a high-performing, collaborative remote environment and will play a key role in building secure, scalable, and commercially impactful product enhancements that integrate with leading legal practice management systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable software solutions using .NET platform technologies (ASP.NET, C#, LINQ).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain OData services and integrations, enabling secure, efficient data exchange between Datolite products and client systems.
  • Translate business and client requirements into well-architected, maintainable solutions, contributing to requirements gathering and technical documentation.
  • Deliver product enhancements and new features from the development backlog in alignment with agreed milestones, client commitments, and revenue-critical timelines.
  • Take full ownership of assigned initiatives from concept through deployment, ensuring quality, accuracy, and production readiness.
  • Apply strong analytical thinking to solve complex product and client challenges, particularly related to data modeling, API design, and system integration.
  • Optimize data queries, service performance, and integration reliability across OData endpoints and related APIs.
  • Continuously improve product architecture by identifying redundancy, deprecated functionality, and opportunities to enhance scalability, resilience, and performance.
  • Promote engineering best practices, including standardization, simplification, high cohesion, and loose coupling across the product suite.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Innovation, Technical Consultants, and Client teams to ensure alignment on scope, priorities, and delivery expectations.
  • Support client engagement activities, including solution discussions and technical demonstrations where required.
  • Adhere to secure development practices and contribute to processes aligned with SOC 2 standards to protect system integrity and client data.

Qualifications:

  • 0–2 years of experience in software development using .NET platform technologies (ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, LINQ).
  • 2–4+ years of experience in software development using .NET platform technologies (ASP.NET, C#, LINQ).
  • Demonstrated experience developing and consuming OData services, including query configuration, filtering, paging, and performance optimization.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, data serialization (JSON/XML), and secure service authentication mechanisms.
  • Experience with web technologies including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern front-end frameworks is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL (SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, MySQL, SQLite).
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD and version control environments.
  • Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related technical discipline.

  • Foundational experience working with relational databases and SQL (e.g., SSMS, MySQL, SQLite).
  • Familiarity with version control and development lifecycle tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Exposure to modern frameworks and tools is considered an asset (e.g., Razor/MVC, Bootstrap, React, Vue, APIs, Power BI).
