Manager, Business Intelligence Consulting

Type: Permanent | Full-time | Remote work

Position Overview:
We are looking for a senior, hands-on consultant to become the technical authority for our legal finance data layer. You will own how Elite 3E and Aderant data is extracted, modelled and delivered. You will lead the move of our clients’ reporting from on-premises SQL Server to Microsoft Fabric, and you will work directly with law firm finance leaders to make sure the numbers are right.

This role suits someone who enjoys both engineering and consulting: working in pipelines and DAX, and explaining to a finance director why a figure is what it is.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and develop our ETL framework for Elite 3E and Aderant, across legacy SQL Server/SSIS/SSAS pipelines and their Microsoft Fabric replacements.
  • Design and build Fabric lakehouse and warehouse solutions using a medallion architecture, Data Factory pipelines, notebooks and incremental loading.
  • Lead client migrations from on-premises to Fabric, from planning and build through reconciliation and cutover.
  • Design star-schema semantic models for law firm finance, covering time, WIP, billing, collections, AR, realisation, utilisation and profitability, and write efficient, well-structured DAX.
  • Reconcile reporting to 3E and Aderant source data and agree data accuracy with client finance teams.
  • Run discovery sessions with law firm stakeholders and turn their questions into clear data requirements.
  • Coach and review the work of other consultants, and help set our development and documentation standards.
  • Help shape how the division uses AI tools, from Copilot in Fabric and Power BI to AI-assisted development and testing.

 

Required Experience:

  • Expert back-end knowledge of Elite 3E and/or Aderant (Expert/Sierra): the finance data model, key tables and relationships, and common data issues. Working knowledge of the other system.
  • 7+ years building data warehouses and ETL in production, including SQL Server and SSIS or equivalent.
  • Hands-on delivery experience in Microsoft Fabric, including at least one production lakehouse or warehouse build or migration.
  • Expert Power BI semantic modelling and DAX, including performance tuning.
  • A solid understanding of law firm finance metrics: WIP, lockup, realisation, utilisation and matter profitability.
  • Client-facing consulting experience, with confidence presenting to finance directors and CFOs.
  • Practical, everyday use of AI tools in data development.
  • The right to work in the UK, Canada or the US.
  • Microsoft certifications such as DP-600, DP-700 or PL-300.
  • Python/PySpark in Fabric notebooks and Git-based deployment.
  • Experience with SSAS Tabular migrations or other legal systems (e.g. Intapp, ProLaw).
  • A background in a legal-tech consultancy or a law firm finance or IT team.

 

Working Conditions: 75% remote e-office environment with up to 25% travel annually

Position Overview:

The Product Developer is responsible for creating and enhancing software products that meet user needs and business goals. This role works closely with cross functional teams to turn ideas into functional solutions, ensuring products are intuitive, reliable, and competitive in the market. The Product Developer plays a key role throughout the product lifecycle from initial concept through development, testing, and ongoing improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Design new software products from concept to launch
  • Collaborate with engineering design and business teams to define product features
  • Conduct market research and analyze user needs to guide product decisions
  • Create and maintain product roadmaps and development timelines
  • Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications
  • Work closely with developers to ensure product quality and functionality
  • Validate product features before release

Qualifications:
